Clarification regarding the Rhodes "State of Emergency":

Share:

Dear Partners,

First of all, we Cordially thank you for all your support and your much concern during all those difficult days that we face a wildfire at the south-eastern part of the island .

Against all difficult circumstances we managed to evacuate 19000 people into 5-6 hours and organize to host them at safe accommodations, covering already from the first moment all their basic needs.  It was a phenomenal and gigantic unparalleled operation.

The term "State of Emergency" that we have today announced,  strictly pertains to the expedited allocation of funds aimed at restoring the damages caused by the island's wildfire.

Currently, over 90% of accommodations (beds sold) on the island are operational and the social and touristic activities on the island continue without disruption.

All facilities, excursions, shops, and services are functioning as usual. Public life runs as always.

We kindly request that there be no concern regarding the term "State of Emergency" used in the announcement, as it is solely a technical expression.

Today, the island of  Rhodes is fully operational, welcoming thousands of visitors daily, and soon, 100% of the island’s accommodations will be fully available.
